Functionality

vReports is an advanced Reporting system that is integrated with SuiteCRM. It does not only allow you to generate and present business data in all kinds of formats, it also provides you the tools to really integrate information handling in your business processes.

vReports is very much about interaction, not only with users, but with external databases, third party applications, integration within SuiteCRM,  etc. We do not only focus on the application by itself, but also on how you might want to use it.

For example: you have created a great report and your manager wants the whole company to have very easy access to it (you may have tens or hundreds of reports in your company library). With vReports you can just add an item to the main menu of SuiteCRM and link this directly to the Report ! (you get menu management for free with vReports !)

Or… you could just add a report to a standard View of the CRM. For example, the detail View for Accounts, to show how an account has performed in the last X months. (you also get this for  free with vReports!)

vReports provides though much more:

For the typical user:

1. See how Reports will look like while you are editing/creating them
2. Schedule Reports and distribute by email.
3. Schedule actions so that target-lists are automatically populated based on Report filters.
4. Limit the unnecessary execution of heavy reports that would not change anyhow often (e.g. sales of last week).
5. Generate Reports that can only be accessed by specific Roles.
6. Various graphical libraries, using animation.
7. “Extra info” button in tabular reports, to compact presented data (less is more!).
8. Define colour presentation based on thresholds (e.g. progress based).

For the expert user:

1. Send data to external applications for further processing
2. Render reports to that they can be presented in other client applications without programming.
3. Define also queries in SQL
4. Define sub-queries using the graphical editor.
5. Enhance results using PHP coding
6. Create advanced, multi-graph reports, link them together with filters and bundle them in one “Metareport”.
7. Versioning: Create newer versions of Reports, and test them, while keeping the old version active.
8. Present reports in dashlets for advanced (interactive) dashboards.
9. Access other databases, beyond the CRM Database, and generate Reports for those databases too!
10. Generate Reports that can only be accessed by different Roles.
11. Multi-language support for the Reports themselves.
12. Define your own ajax routines and trigger them by a button in reports (for example: change status of an element)
13. Allow to download files as part of a report.
14. Create your own CSS to present card-like presentations, and much more !
15. Generate reports accessing multiple tables (versioned or time-marked).
